Trailer Bridge Announces Recipient of 2004 Malcom P. McLean Innovative Spirit Award and is Recognized By SC Johnson for Outstanding Customer Service Support

Jacksonville, FL -- Trailer Bridge, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRBR) today announced that Herbie Rios, Director, Terminal Operations in San Juan, PR, is the recipient of the 2004 Malcom P. McLean Innovative Spirit Award. The Company recognized Mr. Rios at its annual stockholders' meeting, which took place May 26th at Trailer Bridge's corporate headquarters in Jacksonville, FL.

The award, in honor of the late founder of Trailer Bridge who was the leading transportation innovator of the 20th century, is given each year at the annual meeting to that employee whose innovative and persistent efforts particularly benefited the Company.

In his remarks presenting the award for 2004, John D. McCown, Trailer Bridge's Chairman & CEO, stated, "Herbie has consistently demonstrated innovative thinking and leadership with regards to all aspects of our San Juan Terminal operation. There is not a better run or more efficient port terminal in San Juan. In addition to his operational contributions, in 2003 he played a direct role in several key sales successes. Herbie has been key to so many of our superlatives on the island and we're pleased to recognize him with our most important employee award."

"I'm very honored to receive this award," said Mr. Rios. "Many times, when you work away from corporate headquarters, you think your job goes unnoticed. With Trailer Bridge, this is not the case. We have direct communication all the way to the top of the organization and know we have everyone's total support. My staff and I work in terminal operations, but we understand that how we perform our duties is more broadly related to customer service."

The Company also announced that it received SC Johnson's "Customer Service Team of the Year" award for 2003. Trailer Bridge was recognized at its annual business review with SC Johnson, which recently took place at Trailer Bridge's corporate headquarters in Jacksonville, FL. This is the fourth year in a row that SC Johnson has recognized Trailer Bridge for its outstanding customer service. The Company was honored for maintaining the high levels of customer service as required in SC Johnson's carrier partnership program.

SC Johnson's Ms. Katie Scheller, U.S. Import/Export Services & Compliance Manager, and Mr. Milt Morris, Director, U.S. Transportation Import/Export Services & Compliance, presented the award to Trailer Bridge. Jennifer Harvey, Manager, Customer Service, Josie Fleming, Area Supervisor, Customer Service, and Liz Nobles, Division Sales Manager - Midwest accepted the award on behalf of all Trailer Bridge employees. In accepting the award, Ms. Harvey stated, "We are once again honored to receive this award from SC Johnson. Every Trailer Bridge team member prides themselves in providing outstanding customer service." Ms. Nobles added, "It is an honor to receive such a prestigious award from a first class company as SC Johnson."

Trailer Bridge has been the primary transportation provider for SC Johnson products between the U.S. mainland and Puerto Rico since 1993. The Company exceeded the overall performance objective, of 95%, set by SC Johnson for 2003, achieving a 96% score. Trailer Bridge led all SC Johnson's worldwide ocean carriers with a score of 97.2% in the Shipment Performance / Delays category.
