Trailer Bridge Announces Recipients of 2005 Malcom P. McLean Innovative Spirit Award and Schedules First Quarter Financial Results and Conference Call

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2005--Trailer Bridge, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRBR - News) today announced that Adam Gawrysh, Director, Truck Operations and Dave Hudgens, Senior Manager, Financial Services, are the recipients of the 2005 Malcom P. McLean Innovative Spirit Award. The Company formally recognized Messrs. Gawrysh and Hudgens at its annual shareholders meeting, which was held today.

The award, in honor of the late founder of Trailer Bridge who was the leading transportation innovator of the 20th century, is given each year at the annual meeting to employees whose innovative and persistent efforts particularly benefited the Company.

"Adam and Dave were both outstanding performers this past year," said Ralph W. Heim, Trailer Bridge's President & Chief Operating Officer. "Adam kept our trucks running on time and efficiently despite many challenges including the vagaries resulting from last years unusually busy hurricane season in Florida and Dave was the point person responsible for increased demurrage collections in 2004 which were up 34% versus 2003 and 67% versus 2002. Beyond their excellent day-to-day performance, both initiated and followed through with innovative ideas that resulted in direct and quantifiable financial benefits. Adam initiated RailRunner service from the Ft. Wayne, IN area to Jacksonville that augmented our inland transportation options and Dave took a different approach to past due account situations that lead to a full recovery while also developing new business situations that resulted in meaningful container volume for us."

As with all award winners, both Messrs. Gawrysh and Hudgens will be presented with a statuette commemorating the award and plaques with their names will be affixed to a statuette on permanent display in the lobby at Trailer Bridge's corporate headquarters in Jacksonville, FL.

Trailer Bridge also announced that it will issue its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2005 prior to the opening of the stock market on Monday, May 16th. Management will also conduct a conference call that morning at 11:00 AM Eastern Time to discuss these results.
