New Driver Hours-of-Service Regulations

This is a friendly reminder that effective July 1, 2013, the new Hours-of-Service (HOS) regulations will be implemented by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

The new rule by FMCSA revises the hours-of-service safety requirements for commercial truck drivers to make sure drivers can get the rest they need to operate safely when on the road. Commercial truck drivers and companies must comply with the HOS final rule by July 1, 2013. The rule has been sent to the Federal Register and is currently available on FMCSA’s Web site at http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/HOSFinalRule.
