Unless otherwise exempted in individual rate items, when carrier is required to maintain operating refrigerated/temperature-controlled equipment at their terminal in United States, an Energy Equipment Charge will be assessed as follows:

Export shipments to Puerto Rico will be billed beginning at 7:00AM on the fourth business day after the container is delivered to the terminal and will accrue at $175.00 per refrigerated/temperature-controlled container per calendar day. Export shipments will be billed to the shipper of record.

Shipments from Puerto Rico will be billed beginning at 7:00am on the fourth business day after complete vessel discharge and will accrue until the refrigerated/temperature-controlled container is removed from Carrier’s terminal. The day of discharge and the following calendar days are free days. Upon expiration of the free Time period, carrier will assess a charge of $175.00 per refrigerated/temperature-controlled container per calendar day. Import shipments will be billed to the consignee of record.

EXCEPTION: If carrier advances a shipment to an earlier sailing than originally booked by the customer, the energy charges will be calculated based on the original booked sail date. Special Notes – Containers remain subject to Free Time and Demurrage charges as specified in the contract or tariff.
