Chassis Usage Surcharge – Item 999

Free time for chassis usage in United States, Puerto Rico & US Virgin Islands will be 5 business days.

A. COMPUTATION OF TIME – Free Time will commence as follows:

  1. Import to United States or Puerto Rico/USVI – First 8:00 am following complete discharge of vessel.
  2. Export from United States or Puerto Rico/USVI – First 8:00 am following removal of Chassis(s) from Carrier’s premises.

Should the day following completion of the Vessel’s discharge be a Saturday, Sunday or a Holiday, the Free Time will commence at 8:00 am on the next succeeding business day.

For chassis of any size provided by the Carrier in the United States for Southbound shipments to Puerto Rico & US Virgin Islands, the designated Consignee will be invoiced.

Northbound shipments from Puerto Rico & US Virgin Islands into the United States will be invoiced to the designated Shipper.

Chassis Usage Surcharge may be billed to an alternate party if agreed to by all parties, including the Carrier, in advance.

All Carrier container equipment is required to be mounted on Carrier chassis before out gating, i.e., no customer supplied chassis will be allowed, Chassis are not available for usage on Shipper Owned/Leased Equipment.

Upon expiration of Free Time:

  • Goods in Trailer, Day 6-10 (per trailer) $25 per day          
  • Goods in Trailer, Day 11 or more, (per trailer) $50 per day
