What do you enjoy most about leading the Chicago team here at Trailer Bridge?

There is nothing better than watching people on your team grow. I have a great group of people and watching them develop into excellent logistics professionals has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

Describe Your Leadership Style.

As a leader at Trailer Bridge, I find that having a positive attitude and leading by example are very important. But the main thing is that the roles are reversed when it comes to my leadership style. I work for my team!

They know that I will help them with anything that they need, and it is very important that everyone on my team feels comfortable enough to come to me with any issues. That goes for everything here in the Chicago office whether it is business or personal. My door is ALWAYS open.

What are 3 qualities you look for in a candidate on your team?

  1. Resilience: We talk to a lot of carriers, customers and prospects on a daily basis, and we hear “no” from them often. Being able to brush that off and keep pushing is important in this role.
  2. Emotional Intelligence: Understanding your emotions and the emotions of your coworkers, customers and vendors is big in logistics. Things don’t always go the way we plan and how we handle these problems sets us apart at TB.
  3. Interpersonal Communication: We have a wide array of clients and vendors that are from all over the country. Being able to communicate effectively with people that are different than you is integral to success in logistics.

Describe your team in 3 words or less.

Passionate go-getters.

What is one fun fact that you would want a potential new hire to know about you?

I’ve been working in logistics for close to 20 years now, and I’m still learning new things every day! There are always new innovations or new types of freight to move, and with each of them comes a better understanding of how the global supply chain is pieced together.

That and I love 80’s Horror Movies, Halloween is BIG in the Chicago Office.
