Turning Your Imagination Into Reality

One of my favorite things about this time of year is seeing the world through my youngest children’s eyes. At five and four, they see the magic of this season and experience it fully, waking up every morning counting down the days till Christmas and searching for their elf, Lola (with the help of their older sisters of course).

Conversely, this time of year for us adults can sometimes – okay, most of the time – feel stressful and overwhelming as we try to balance overly full schedules, find the perfect gift for our loved ones, and remember to move the damn elf.

But what if we slowed down and saw the world as our children do – not just this season but throughout the year.

What if we used our imagination.

What if we believed in what we can’t see.

What if we found joy in the small things around us. What if we loved unconditionally.

It’s something I encouraged my team here at Trailer Bridge to do during a recent Townhall because I believe it could change the world. That’s a bold statement I know but I believe it to be true; kind of like I believe in using the word love in the workplace.

So, as we close out 2023 and look to the new year ahead, I encourage all of you to find the magic in your day. And if you can’t find it – look to the children around you, they can help you.
