Strength, Service, and the Spirit of Independence
We’re quickly approaching the middle of the year and my favorite holiday: the Fourth of July. I’m that neighbor who always goes all out with fireworks, the guy who gives the local city display a run for their money.
But it’s not the sparklers, cookouts, or pool parties with my family and friends that make it my favorite. It’s what the holiday stands for—values like resilience, innovation, and a deep commitment to service. Those same values have shaped both our country and this company. They’ve guided Trailer Bridge from our beginnings in the Puerto Rico trade to the global logistics partner we are today.
This message comes to you at a time when tensions around the world are growing. Conflict, instability, and economic uncertainty continue to shape trade flows and challenge supply chains. These moments remind us that freedom and peace are never guaranteed—and that in business, as in life, we must remain alert, adaptable, and deeply connected.
That’s the spirit my friend and our President of Logistics, Eric Masotti, captured in his recent article, Building a Smarter Freight Future. (Read it here.) Eric shares his no-nonsense perspective on today’s market, writing, “success today is about operational excellence, responsiveness, and being able to pivot fast.”
That sentiment speaks volumes. Today, focus is key. We must stay focused on the work: showing up with grit, transparency, and providing solutions for our customers. And ultimately, continuing to provide an essential service for the world around us – even amid the uncertainty.
Eric also points to something we’re all seeing—a reset in the industry. The market is calling for something different: discipline, smart investment, and meaningful partnerships. That’s where TB shines. We’ve never taken shortcuts—we’ve built our business customer by customer, lane by lane, and we’ll continue to grow with that same intention and heart.
You can see that mindset reflected in the stories of our customers. We highlight one of those stories in our latest video; our long-standing partnership with Plaza Provisions, a relationship built on trust, communication, and consistency. Their experience is a powerful reminder that in logistics, strong relationships are often the difference between delivering and falling short.
Wishing you and your families a safe and meaningful Independence Day. May we each take a moment to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy—and honor the sacrifices made to protect them, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
