Trailer Bridge Completes First Mission Under WEXMAC 2.0 Contract
Trailer Bridge successfully executed its first mission under the WEXMAC 2.0 contract, delivering critical support to the U.S. Navy’s Continuing Promise 2025 operation in the Dominican Republic.
As the prime contractor for this task order, Trailer Bridge led the development of a fully operational medical site at a local school in Puerto Plata. TB’s Government Logistics team coordinated and facilitated the delivery of a wide range of mission-critical materials, equipment, and services. Supporting this effort, the USNS Comfort, a US-Navy Mercy-class hospital ship, arrived in the Dominican Republic to provide medical aid, setting the stage for a strong humanitarian response.
Materials and equipment included bottles of water, portable latrines and handwash stations, tents, generators, forklifts, passenger vans, cellular devices, and mobile hotspots.
In addition, services such as transportation, trash removal, daily cleaning, pest control, lodging, and interpreter support were provided to ensure smooth operations.
With the support of effective planning and logistics managed by TB’s government team, the mission had a significant impact:
- 1,588 patients received care
- 248 dental procedures were completed
- 1,158 prescriptions were filled
- 160 assistive devices were distributed
- 24 surgeries were performed aboard the USNS Comfort
In a recent U.S. Fleet Forces Command news article, Capt. Grace Key, commanding officer, USNS Comfort Medical Treatment Facility, said this: “The collaboration we experienced here exemplifies what’s possible when partners come together with a shared commitment to service. It’s through teamwork like this that we achieve a lasting impact.”
“We echo the sentiments of Capt. Key, a commitment to service is how we positively impact the world around us. For us at Trailer Bridge, one way we do that is by supporting the logistics needs of our military partners and their allies for missions such as Continuing Promise,” said Chris Goss, Vice President of Government and Projects.
The execution of this mission reflects Trailer Bridge’s capabilities in complex logistics and reinforces our ongoing focus on strengthening partnerships through dependable, mission-driven support.
“This mission allowed our team to flex a different muscle, extending our services beyond the traditional transportation moves many consider,” added Goss. “This project was about setting up the environment specifically life support services where our military partners could be successful. I’m proud of our team’s successful execution of the task at hand alongside our partners in the DR.”
In addition to the WEXMAC 2.0 Contract, Trailer Bridge also holds the following U.S. military contracts:
- All Ports Denmark Stevedoring and Terminal Services Contract
- Universal Services Contract-10 (USC-10)
- Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA)
- Ports Operations and Related Transportation Services (PORTS) Contract
