Transportation Partners Rally Again to Support Puerto Rico Communities
Trailer Bridge and ATS International hosted their annual Rally por Puerto Rico Charity Golf Tournament today bringing together transportation partners, customers and community partners to raise critical funding for Habitat for Humanity of Puerto Rico. The 2026 event surpassed $108,500 raised supporting the nonprofit’s work to provide safe and affordable housing for families and individuals across the island.
Now in its sixth year, the Rally por Puerto Rico tournament has become a meaningful extension of both companies’ long-standing commitment to the island. Since its inception in 2019, the event has raised more than $500,000 to support critical housing and community development initiatives in Puerto Rico.
“Our Rally tournament reflects the strength and generosity of the transportation and logistics community here on the island and I could not be prouder to be a part of it,” said Trailer Bridge CEO Mitch Luciano at the event’s award ceremony. “We’ve had the opportunity to see first-hand how Habitat is changing lives through their work and building a safer, stronger community for future generations through the dollars raised. They are good stewards of the dollars given and we look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come.”
Trailer Bridge and ATS cover all expenses associated with the Rally por Puerto Rico charity golf tournament, ensuring 100% of sponsorship dollars go directly to Habitat.
“We’re proud to once again bring together our industry and the Puerto Rico community to support the incredible work and mission of Habitat for Humanity of Puerto Rico,” said Jay Thomassen, Vice President, Commercial Services for ATS. “The impact they have on so many deserving families reflects ATS’s core values and our commitment to strengthening the communities we serve. It’s a sincere honor to play a part in that mission.”
The event welcomed 85 golfers to Grand Reserve Golf Club in Río Grande, Puerto Rico, a deliberate decision to keep the tournament intimate and relationship focused.
Karla Peña Romero, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Puerto Rico, expressed her appreciation to Trailer Bridge and ATS International for this year’s contribution and their continued support over the years. Habitat has been a beneficiary of the Rally for Puerto Rico initiative since 2019, with funds raised through six tournaments. “This continued commitment reflects the power of partnerships to drive meaningful change,” she said.
“Thanks to this support, Habitat Puerto Rico has advanced the development of new affordable homes in Ponce, Fajardo, San Juan, and Trujillo Alto, expanding access to homeownership across multiple communities,” she added. “At the same time, we continue to carry out critical repair projects in Caguas, allowing more families to live in safety and stability.” She also reaffirmed the vital role of the private sector as both strategic partners and active contributors in building stronger communities across Puerto Rico, concluding, “At the end of the day, everyone deserves a safe and decent place to call home.”
Trailer Bridge has proudly served Puerto Rico since 1991, operating roll-on, roll-off barge services that deliver essential goods to the island, including building materials used in housing development. The company continues to invest in its assets to support its long-time commitment to serving the island with reliable shipping solutions.
